Stable Commodity Prices Look Good For Tape Pricing
Stable (and currently falling) prices for raw materials used in cloth tape manufacturing would seem to bode well for continuing price stability in that segment.
The price on gaffers tape, the bellwether product in this category, has been unchanged since mid 2011 and stable cotton futures and falling oil prices will hopefully offset some of the volatility in natural gas (down short term as well) as we move towards the beginning of 2014.
Of particular interest is a record harvest of cotton in India, which had its best growing season since 2007.
