When It Comes To Mental Health, NASA Takes The Simple Approach

astronautIn a bow to the real possibility that someone on the International Space Station will suffer a breakdown that will lead to a threat to themselves or others, NASA has revealed that material on the space station includes duct tape and bungee cords that might be needed to restrain someone.

Even though astronauts go through intensive psychological evaluation before being cleared for space travel, there is still a very real possibility that drastic measures might be necessary.

The first stage of a three stage procedure for dealing with an out of control crew member is to restrain their wrists and ankles with tape.
