OSHA (The Occupational Safety & Health Administration) has created a code system to indicate what specific colors applied to work areas (primarily the floor) mean to workers.
Yellow-Marks aisles and spaces between those aisles
Red-Areas, equipment or machinery that may be hazardous
Green-Location of safety supplies or equipment like first aid or fire extinguishers
Blue-Machinery or equipment in need of repair
White-locations for storage
