Tape Term Of The Day: “Creped”
The secret to the performance of good masking tape is a property called “creping”. A “creped” tape has minute irregular folds in the tape that allow it to be stretched as it is applied.
By stretching the tape, its adhesion to a surface is improved, allowing it to reject things like flowing tape.
In order to properly apply creped tape, it must be pushed down with enough force to unfold the creping.
