Geckskin Named A Top Science Breakthrough For 2012

CNN has named the reusable adhesive Geckskin as a top science breakthrough on its list for 2012.

This super-strong adhesive being developed at the University of Mass-Amherst has the potential to create reusable tape and other adhesive products.

It mimics the suction cup-like pads on the feet of the gecko lizard to create a dry adhesive that can be used over and over.

The initial development was funded by the Defense Department and now development is underway in the private sector.
