Want A Faster Computer? Tape The Chips Together!

tapeScientists working to join semiconductors needed to run super computers have long dealt with the problem of getting those specialized chips, called cuprates, to work well with the more common chips needed to complete computer operations.

Rather than using complicated and expensive materials to merge the two types of chips, these researchers have learned that they can be used together successfully by simply using common Scotch tape as an insulator.

This common desktop material has led to the merging of these two technologies, essentially giving simple semiconductors the potential to perform super computing tasks.
